The Danish Partnership on Ballast Water invites to a conference in Copenhagen to be held 8 March 2012. The conference will include questions and challenges related to the IMO Ballast Water Management Convention including
Status of the ratification process and bottlenecks

- The challenges seen from a shipowner perspective

- The risk related to spread of alien and invasive species

- The need for ballast water treatment

- European implementation of the ballast water management convention

- Status of approved treatment systems
