Danish Maritime Legislation Course for Foreign Masters

Aim
The aim of the course is to obtain knowledge of Danish maritime legislation, cf. the educational requirements of the training programme for courses in Danish shipping legislation, ship administration and working environment for foreign masters, version 2.0 of 1 March 2009.

Participants
Foreign masters who are going to serve on board Danish ships.

Qualifications
The participant, who is a citizen in an EU/EEA country, must fulfill the qualifications to apply for Danish recognition of foreign certificates with the right to be master of ships registered in the Danish International Ship Register.

Contents
The relevant Danish maritime legislations, regulations and stipulations are covered.
The course is carried out as a combination of group work and lectures combined with relevant tests during the course.

Language of Instruction
Usually the course takes place in English.

Duration
The duration of the course is 4 days.
If the participant has completed a §16 Safety & Health and perhaps also a Danish Maritime Legislation Course for Senior Officers within recent years he may complete the course in a reduced period.

Schedule
Courses in Manila, Gdynia and Mumbai start at 9 AM on the first day. Courses in Copenhagen start at 9.30 AM on the first day. All courses end at approx. 3 PM on the last day. (Program)

Training venue
Courses in Manila take place at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel, Ayala Centre, Makati city, Metro Manila.
Courses in Gdynia take place at Hotton Hotel, Swiętego Piotra 8, 81-347 Gdynia.
Mumbai: Has not been decided yet.
Courses in Copenhagen take place in the Danish Shipowners’ Association’s premises, Amaliegade 33, 1256 Copenhagen K.

Notice of the course
Please note that notice of the course to the participant must be sent by the shipping company or the manning agency.

Certificate
Certificate for the completed course will be issued according to the existing legislation.

Prices
Gdynia: DKK 6,500 per participant
Manila: DKK 6,500 per participant
Mumbai: DKK 6,500 per participant
Copenhagen: DKK 7,600 + VAT per participant (small groups).
The prices include training, course materials and meals but not accommodation.
Courses outside Denmark are not subject to VAT.

Cancellation and non-attendance
• Later than 3 days before the course starts we will charge you 100 % of the course fee.
• Replacement of a participant is free of charge.

Company specific courses
We also carry out courses on demand both in Denmark and abroad.
Price: DKK 11,000 + VAT per day for up to 15 participants. This is based on the condition that the shipowner pays for the participants’ accommodation and meals and for the expenses of course facilities and the instructor if any. If you by company specific courses, we grant a 20 % discount after the 10th day of training within a calendar year.
Courses outside Denmark are not subject to VAT.
